Associate/Trainee Pensions Consultant

We are looking for an Associate/Trainee Pensions Consultant to work in our office located in Clifton, Bristol.  

Our principal business activities are corporate pension consultancy, investment consultancy, scheme administration and the provision of actuarial services. We provide a boutique service to Trustees and employers.  Our focus is very much on the provision of a personal and professional service tailored specifically to meet each client’s particular needs.

This vacancy is in our Advisory team who are responsible for the provision of all general consulting and investment services to our trust-based pension scheme clients. It is a small but progressive department with great opportunity for growth.

Full training and coaching will be provided with the potential of you achieving full Consultant status.

The individual will:

  • Have experience as a participant at pension Trustee Meetings
  • Have good technical knowledge of both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution scheme governance and regulatory requirements
  • A good understanding of the pensions market and wider financial services industry
  • Have a professional, proactive, flexible and positive attitude
  • Be able to prioritise and organise workload
  • Have or be working towards APMI or equivalent

 Duties will include:

  • Acting as Scheme manager on designated schemes
  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships and managing client   expectations and needs
  • Attending trustee meetings, including preparation, minutes and any subsequent actions
  • Producing presentations and reports
  • Advising clients of changing legislative or market trends and ensuring that clients are compliant with legislation
  • Project managing the installation of new schemes
  • Providing new business quotations and presentations where necessary
  • Acting as a general technical resource to Trigon
  • Work with directors and management team to ensure new business targets are met
  • Helping to deliver training on consultancy topics for the company
  • Helping to deliver Trustee training to our clients
